DSP wins Gold at Pride in Print 2015

July 3rd, 2015

DSP Print Group had a great return from the 2015 Pride in Print Awards. Walking away with two Gold Awards, and one Highly Commended – an excellent result for the two products they entered!

Every year the Pride in Print awards celebrate the highest standards of print production in New Zealand. Not only do they push the quality of print, they promote a culture of providing excellence for the customer.

The McDonalds translite display that DSP was approached to produce provided a unique substrate challenge for our offset printers. Translite is not a common substrate to run through an offset press, but they showed they were more than up to the task. Given the nature of the display – being backlit and having to hold its appeal for a long period of time, the translite also had to be printed on both sides. This would give it strong and lasting colour, but also required the printers to match the front perfectly with a reversed image on the back, any misregistration would have been clearly visible.

The team did a great job pulling this off on our KBA press and were obviously very pleased to be recognised for their work. Judges comments: “Good crisp and clear colours giving this job real taste appeal!”, “ A stunning job from offset”. DSP picked up two Gold awards for the quality of this job – One Gold for the Point of Sale Display category and another Gold for taking out the Offset Printing Process Category. To top things off, the other job DSP entered, the Display Bin Wrap for Pineapple M&Ms, picked up a Highly Commended award in the Large Format Category.

The team at DSP are looking forward to continuing to pursue higher levels of printing excellence over the coming year.
